Music marketing Blog post #1

My group and I began our process by first listening to each of the songs that were given to us. By listening to them multiple times we were able to digest the songs and determine which one would be the most optimal for creating a music marketing campaign. The song we chose, "duality," was one that each of us liked the best and was also one of the more popular songs from the list. Once we figures out what song we wanted to use, we created a folder in google drive that would allow us to collaborate on documents. After reading the instructions for the project over again, we then started the planning process.

When starting out the planning process we focused on looking at the work that needed to be done and dedicated certain days towards finishing certain tasks. We did this by creating and filling a shared chart in Google Docs. Once we knew how we wanted to attack the project we could finally start. First we researched the genre, heavy metal, and made a case study using successful bands within the genre. next we worked the on creating storyboards for the music video. This allowed us to properly prepare for the actual execution of the video. Then we made and shared a Canva presentation that would serve as the main bulk of the project.

Beginning on the music video, I started working on the animated portions that we would use for the video. Once I had a section of it done, I exported it and put it into premier pro. I am still not completely done yet but the plan is to just continue working section by section before editing it all together. We also filmed some live actions sections of the video that still need to go through editing. Finally, moving forward I am going to focus on finishing the animated sections of the video, completing the marketing presentation, and practicing the presentation with my partners.
